Fourteen members braved the elements on Boxing Day for our traditional amble along the promenade between the Bridge of Don and Footdee. This year was particularly challenging in the teeth of a southerly gale that was blowing sand up on to the promenade. Walking south towards Footdee, the stinging sand was blowing into our faces – a Saharan sandstorm!! Well not quite, but covid masks were particularly useful in protecting our faces. A brief refreshment stop was taken on a sheltered part of the beach at Footdee, and after a photo stop we returned along the prom and via the golf course to the Bridge of Don. The walk back was much more comfortable with the wind behind us. Unfortunately, due to covid restrictions, we could not make our usual visit the café.
Thanks to Brian Davey for leading the walk and to David Christie for the photos.
